The Pictou County Partnership is hosting a workshop for entrepreneurs on Tuesday, February 6th from 9AM to 5PM. Crafted for entrepreneurs who are building businesses that may some day be sold to family, employees or a third party, this workshop will be practical, interactive, and motivating.
Elevate Your Business Value: Create a Blueprint for Building, Selling and Personal Freedom is a full day workshop that will be facilitated by Wendy Brookhouse, Founder and Chief Strategist of Black Star Wealth.
Wendy has been assisting Business Owners in building their wealth – and that includes the value of their business – for almost two decades.
From this workshop, attendees will learn:
- How to recognize when you've fallen into The Owner's Trap and the steps to take to pull yourself out;
- The three attributes of a scalable business model;
- The eight factors that drive the value of your business;
- The one kind of revenue that can triple the value of your business;
- The six forms of sustainable recurring revenue;
- The two essential elements of your marketing plan you need to avoid commoditization and costly price wars;
- The one question you need to ask your customers to predict the likelihood that they will buy again in the future and refer you to others.

- What is the cost? Your cost is $125. The total investment per business is $500 – part of the cost of this workshop is being subsidized by the Pictou County Partnership as part of our mandate to assist businesses to strategically achieve their goals.
- How long is the session? The session is from 9 – 5. We have built in frequent breaks to stretch your legs and check your emails.
- Who will be there? Other business owners who are interested in growing their business in a strategic fashion and prepare for a transition at some point. Participants will sign confidentiality agreements.
- Why do I need to do an assessment and meeting before the session? This is your opportunity to find out exactly how your business is performing on the 8 drivers of growth. It is also an opportunity to get an estimate of the current value of your business, and what it could be. This part alone is worth thousands of dollars.
- I don’t want to sell my business for a while, if ever. Should I attend? Absolutely. The strategies will not only increase the value of your business, they will increase your freedom and cash flow. A more valuable business is typically more attractive to investors and bankers if you are looking for capital.
