Clarence MacDonald

Groupe Savoie

Born and raised in Pictou County, Clarence has spent his entire career working in the local area across a range of industries- from Heating and Plumbing to resource processing- earning a reputation for reliability, problem-solving, and a strong work ethic. He raised his family here and remains committed to helping ensure that Pictou County continues to be a strong, viable place for future generations to live and work. Clarence values the relationships he’s built across the community and believes in supporting local jobs and opportunities.

Clarence brings over 30 years of hands-on experience in operations and industry leadership to his role as Director at Groupe Savoie, where he oversees the day-to-day management of the company’s lumber mill and kiln operations. Known for his practical approach and knowledge of the forestry sector, Clarence supports sustainable growth in the region’s natural resource industries.

Outside of work, Clarence enjoys spending time on projects that allow him to build on the skills he has developed over the years while learning new ones along the way. Whether it’s woodworking, mechanics, or finding practical fixes for everyday challenges, he’s happiest when he’s working with his hands. He takes pride in being part of a community where hard work, resourcefulness, and connection matters.
